PARISHIONERS, SAVE THE DATE! MAY 23!
Parishioners, join Brother William from the Archdiocesan Worship Office
on Wednesday, May 23 at St. Mary’s Church at 7:00 pm. Topic of discussion will be liturgical architecture and some history about St. Mary’s. This is the first step in the renovation process of St. Mary’s Church as the building approaches its 50th Anniversary in 2015. After 47 years, the church is in dire need of new lighting, sound system, bathrooms, handicap accessibility, energy-efficient windows, carpet, gathering spaces, etc. See you there for this exciting time in our Parish. We want you to be a part of this journey!
BE A HOSPITALITY MINISTER!
One of the items that came out of our recent parish survey
was to promote hospitality. With this in mind, we’ve learned parishioners and guests tend to depend on the ushers as a “go to” person at Mass. We recently had a gathering and invited all current ushers. The attendance and ideas that came from the meeting were wonderful. Going forward you will see some of these changes and added duties within this ministry. Our first step before implementing any changes, we’d like to see if we can increase the number of volunteers we currently have. Secondly what better way to promote hospitality than changing the title Usher to Hospitality Minister? With this in mind the parish is looking for additional dedicated parishioners to volunteer as Hospitality Ministers. This is not limited to men only, woman are more than welcome. If interested please contact Reggie at the parish office, 402-371-2621 or e-mail reggielong@sacredheartnorfolk.com
CATHOLIC SCHOOL SURVEY
Vision for the Future of Catholic Schools in Greater Nebraska

The plan will set the direction for Catholic schools to be stronger and even more effective in their mission.
As part of the process, a survey is being conducted online and your participation is very important.
The survey will measure attitudes and perceptions as well as assess needs and priorities for Catholic schools.
Please click on the link to respond to this survey. www.meitler.com/survey.asp . It is short and easy.
Thank you in advance for giving your opinions.
We must hear from as many as possible, so please make sure you complete a survey no later than May 21, 2012.

Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we consecreate our lives, our families, and our parish to you. We offer to you our hearts: All that we are, all that we have, and all that we love, without exception. May all members of this parish choose the path of Discipleship-in worship, thanksgiving, evangelization, and loving service to one another and to the poor.
May we stand strong against all evil by perseverance in faith and trusting obedience to the teachings of Jesus and His Bride the Church. May we shine as a beacon to all with the light of His wisdom and love.
Mary, Mother of God, keep our parish close to your Immaculate Heart, and wrap us in your protective mantle in union with Jesus your Son. We ask this in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PRAYER INTENTIONS
Sacred Heart Parish will be praying for parishioners in need of special prayers.
The listing will be in the Sunday Bulletin and also read at weekend Masses.
To be included, the following regulations will be followed:
---The person being prayed for must be a current parishioner.
---The parishioner themself must call in to the Parish Office (contact Reggie at 402-371-2621) with the request. If the parishioner is physically unable to make the call themself, a spouse may call in the parishioner’s name and with the parishioner’s permission (a parent may call in the name of a minor child). Some parishioners are very private and do not want to have their name on any list or announced at Mass on Sunday. (We need to know your relationship with the person being prayed for.)
---The parishioner being prayed for will only be on the list for 2 weeks.
---The only way to get a parishioner’s name on the list will be to call the Parish Office.
---No new names will be allowed to be added at the last minute at Church. Deadline for the request will follow the Bulletin article deadline listed in the bulletin.
