CONSTRUCTION AROUND SACRED HEART CHURCH
Beginning around August 1, the city will be blocking off 5th Street in front of Sacred Heart Church. They will be re-doing the street & sidewalks on both sides of 5th St. between Madison Ave & Phillip Ave. Parking will be available north of the church on Madison Ave, and in the Parish Parking lot west of the church. It is anticipated to take about 4-6 weeks.
Beginning around July 30th, Hespe Construction will be working on the bell tower at Sacred Heart Church. The front (east) entrance to the church will be closed during this time. Parishioners are asked to use the south or north entrances. Hespe Construction will work a 9-5 day so as to not disrupt Mass. This work is expected to take 1 week.
Also, Norfolk Public School will be demolishing a building on Phillip Ave around the same time. Parking on Philip Ave will also be restricted. Debris should be contained to the site, but dust & other fine particles will most certainly be blowing onto our property.
When all is completed, 5th Street should not be full of pot holes any more!! However, parking will be affected as it will only be permitted on the west side of the street
